Dear reader. As far as I know, this is a real story, based on this article that was published yesterday:
“Chinese math prodigy who turned down MIT to become monk now works 10-hour days livestreaming to support family”
A previous article, published in April this year, is this one:
It says:
“Liu Zhiyu, a Chinese IMO gold medalist, has drawn renewed attention for his unconventional path from turning down MIT to becoming a Buddhist monk and later marrying after returning to secular life.”
After some research I was able to find his detailed biography in English at Baidu Wiki:
Liu Zhiyu – Chinese psychological counselor
I will not express my personal opinion about this interesting and very unique story. I do not want to make a public judgment of Liu Zhiyu, who is a person that (until now) I never met personally.
But I really want to share this story with you my readers. Because I am sure that he is a very special person. Let’s pay attention to the next chapters.
Have a nice year!
Hayim
